The PPF is a not-for-profit body which brings together the professional player associations in the UK to promote, protect and develop the collective interests of sportsmen and women.
Part of our role is to help improve support and increase awareness around a number of key welfare issues which affect sportspeople.
In partnership with GambleAware and our members, we wanted to improve players’ understanding of problem gambling and raise awareness of the support available to players who may have a gambling problem. This follows on from our research which showed that professional sportspeople are 4 times more at risk of developing a gambling problem than the average person.
This website is specifically aimed at sportspeople and the videos feature testimonials from players who’ve suffered problems with their gambling. We are hugely grateful to: John Hartson, Scott Davies, Clarke Carlisle, The Sporting Chance Clinic, Cognacity and EPIC.
