The key priority for player associations is the welfare of their players. If you’re struggling with a gambling addiction or are worried about your gambling behaviour, please contact your Player Association for advice on how to get help.
The PFA has a dedicated Wellbeing service which provides a helpline - 07500 000 777 – and network of counsellors available 24/7. Through their support of the Sporting Chance Clinic, they can also offer residential support to members.
RPA members can access 24/7 confidential counselling by contacting️ Cognacity on 01373 858 080. Their Lift The Weight videos also provide support and advice.
PCA members can access 24/7 confidential helpline on 0844 800 6873 which can be followed up with face-to-face support. Their Mind Matters tutorials also provide support and advice.
PJA members can access the 24/7 confidential helpline provided by Sporting Chance on 07780 008877. They also have produced a Jockey Matters film about Addiction & Recovery.
PFA Scotland partners with the RCA Trust, an addiction counselling charity. Players can contact the 24/7 helpline 07702 565916, speak directly to Andy Todd from the RCA Trust on 0141 887 0880 (9-5pm) or approach any member of the PFA Scotland team if they have any gambling issue.
The PDPA have worked with The Sporting Chance clinic to offer advice and support to members. Their confidential helpline is available 24/7 on 07500 000777.
WPBSA members are able to access support through a helpline and initial triage service provided by Sporting Chance and a network of over 200 therapists across the UK.
